The Last Unicorn

After toiling tirelessly for six months, I have finally completed my unicorn intarsia in woodshop.

Intarsia is a woodworking technique that utilizes different wood grains and colors to create patterns within the assembled project. Each piece of wood is individually cut out (either on the scroll saw/jigsaw or the bandsaw; I used a scroll saw) and hand-sanded before being finished.

My teachers (Mr. Ball most notably!) were raving about my project in class today. Kudos to me. :)

I really like the individual clumps of hair for the mane, and the wood color/grain for the body is beautiful. Do you have a larger photo? Where did you get the unicorn pattern?
