Knits for Feet

My high school counselor is pregnant. The Christmas season has made me feel rather generous. I decided to make baby booties for my counselor. They turned out a little larger than I had anticipated, but babies grow quickly. If the boooties don't fit a newborn, they'll definitely fit a slightly older baby.
Baby Booties

In addition to Kim's hedgehog, I knit a pillow case cover with a neat ripple pattern that looks more complex than it actually is. I am a lamer; I forgot to take a picture of it before I gave it away.

I thought using that pattern to make socks out of would be really neat (the pattern was awesome). When I bought the pattern for the baby booties, I also bought two sock patterns from my LYS. One has a lupine-flower lace pattern and the other is an interesting ripple pattern. I just started the second sock pattern and realized... it's the same ripple pattern very similar! How cool am I?

The pattern is simple enough to memorize, and complex enough to keep the knitting interesting. Plain stockinette is boring enough to give me a psychotic break.
