Bootleggin'
The first of three yarn shipments from Yarn Pirate's sock club (called "the booty club," hehe) was a skein of her merino/tencel blend in the Rum Runner colorway. The hype about Yarn Pirate's yarn is justified: I love this stuff. It knits up cushy but not super thick.
I really do like these socks (even if one cuff is longer than the other, and one foot is slightly longer than the other... I don't mind the longer cuff, and at the moment the longer foot isn't bothering me enough to fix it. We'll see). I agonized over what pattern to choose for this yarn. It's variegated, so a complex pattern would get lost. I finally decided on a plain, simple stockinette sock. I ended doing quite a bit of travelling with these socks, so I actually wasn't bored to tears.
Boring Stats:
Pattern: 60 stitch stockinette sock with picot edge
Yarn: Yarn Pirate merino/tencel, Rum Runner colorway
Gauge: 8 stitches per inch
Needles: Lantern Moon Sox Stix US 2 (and Brittany Birch dpn because one of the sox stix broke :()
Start Date: July-sometime 2007
End Date: August 21, 2007
